SketchUp Project
For several years now, in the 8th grade, I do one-month project withmy students. We use SketchUp program for 3D modeling.
The reason is simple. I want primarily to enrich the teaching and expand the study of 3D space in real, living examples.
Regular classes are usually not abundant with real examples of the application of mathematics to reality. A tasks that fall into this category are far from the "vitality". Usually something like: Three years ago my mother had a 2 times more years of daughters ... etc. Just, a task that the real man/flesh and blood/daily life.
What, you come into the store and on the shelf with vegetables writes: Two pounds of bananas and three kilograms of apples costing £ 40, and three pounds of bananas and five kilograms of apples costing £ 55.
That this was the reason for the emergence of this project
Settings of the project were simple:
1. At its plot of 500 square meters build your dream house
2. The amount of the two-story attic (max)
3. plot shall be 60% built
4. The edge width 2.5 m is forbidden to build
5. All must be original
6. You can use your own samples of colors and surfaces.
In the end we set all our creations in a "street", and render environment.
Of course, together we commented on works done and discuss the project.
